Small Condo, Big Appliances: What Actually Fits in Malaysian Condos
A 600 sq ft Malaysian condo has tight kitchen aisles, no dedicated laundry yard, and shared living-cum-dining space. Standard-sized appliances do not fit. We map LG's slim and stacked range to real condo footprints.

A typical 1-bedroom Malaysian condo is 500–700 sq ft. A 2-bedroom is 700–950 sq ft. Both have the same constraints: tight kitchen aisles, no dedicated laundry yard, and shared living-cum-dining space.
Most appliance specs are written for landed homes. This guide reverses the priority — sized appliances first, then performance — for buyers furnishing real condos.
Kitchen: fridge in a 600 mm aisle
Most condo kitchens have a 600–700 mm walkway between counter and opposite wall. A side-by-side fridge with a 1,000 mm width and 800 mm depth eats half the aisle when the door is open. Avoid.
Right answer for condo kitchens:
Avoid:
For studio condos, a 200–300L undercounter fridge is the right size. LG does not currently offer that range — IKEA or AEG are the practical brands for that capacity tier.
Laundry: WashTower vs washer + dryer
Standard separate washer + dryer occupies 60 cm wide × 60 cm deep × 80 cm tall, twice over. Most condos have a single washer cavity of 65 cm × 65 cm × 90 cm in the kitchen yard or balcony.
LG WashTower is the condo-specific answer:
For condos without dryer access (most), the WashTower is the only way to add dryer capability without renovation. The unit slots into the standard washer cavity and stretches vertically.
Alternative: LG Front Load Combo (15.8 kg washer + dryer in one drum). Single drum that washes and dries. Fits the 65×65×90 cm cavity but with smaller capacity per load.
For condo families of 3+, the WashTower is the better choice — separate washer and dryer drums mean you can wash a second load while the first is drying.
Aircond: 1.0HP units for small bedrooms
Condo bedrooms are 100–150 sq ft. The right aircond size is 1.0HP, not the 1.5HP that landed-home guides recommend.
The LG DUAL Inverter 1.0HP (S3Q09) covers up to 150 sq ft, fits the standard condo bedroom, runs at the lowest electricity cost in the range, and the indoor unit dimensions are scaled down to suit small wall spaces.
For the living-cum-dining area (typically 200–300 sq ft in a condo), 1.5HP is the right size. The DUAL Inverter 1.5HP (S3Q12) covers it.
Avoid: oversizing. A 2.5HP unit in a 200 sq ft room short-cycles, runs less efficiently, and produces uneven cooling.
Water purifier: under-counter is the only answer
A countertop water purifier eats 30+ cm of kitchen counter. In a condo with 1.5–2 metres of total counter space, that is a tenth of your prep area.
LG PuriCare ATOM-U Under-Sink is the condo-specific answer:
For Malaysian condos where counter space is the most valuable real estate in the home, the under-counter purifier is the clear winner over any countertop unit.
TV: 50–55 inch is the practical maximum
Condo living-cum-dining sofa-to-TV distance is usually 2.0–2.5 metres. At that distance, a 55-inch TV fills the viewing field. Anything bigger forces you to scan side-to-side during normal viewing.
The LG 55-inch OLED B5 or NanoCell 75 series fits the standard condo living room. The 77-inch and above models are landed-home sized.
Alternative: LG Smart Monitor Swing at 32 inches with a rolling stand replaces both monitor and casual TV in studio-to-1-bedroom condos. Single screen, repositionable from desk to living area.
Air purifier: tower form for small rooms
Bulky cylindrical air purifiers eat floor space and look industrial.
LG PuriCare AeroFurniture is designed as a side table — a horizontal flat-top surface with the air purifier built into the base. Doubles as a lamp table or accent furniture instead of obviously being an appliance. For condo living rooms where floor space is at premium, this is the right form factor.
LG PuriCare AeroBooster is the tower-form purifier — slim vertical profile that fits in a corner without protruding.
For bedrooms, AeroBooster fits a corner. For living rooms, AeroFurniture earns its space by doing two jobs.
Vacuum: cordless stick only
A cylinder vacuum needs storage space and a corner to hide. A condo has neither.
LG CordZero A9X stands vertical in its charging dock against a wall, takes up 20 × 20 cm of floor footprint, and is reachable in 5 seconds for any quick clean. The auto-empty tower adds 30 × 30 cm but eliminates dust handling.
For condos under 600 sq ft, the standard A9X handheld plus charging wall mount is enough. Skip the auto-empty tower if floor space is critical.
Microwave: built-in or shelf-mount
Counter-top microwaves use 50+ cm of valuable counter. Most condos solve this with shelf-mounting above the cooker hob or installing into a cabinet cutout.
LG NeoChef 25L at 47 cm wide fits standard cabinet cutouts. The 39L Objet is too large for most condo cabinets — counter-top only.
For condos where the counter is already full, the 25L unit on a shelf above the stove is the right answer. For condos with a dedicated appliance cabinet, the 39L fits inside if the cabinet height is 45 cm or more.
What this setup costs
A complete LG condo setup — 1 fridge + WashTower + 2 airconds + water purifier + TV + air purifier + vacuum + microwave — on Subscribe runs roughly RM850–1,200/month depending on model selection.
That replaces RM30,000–45,000 in upfront appliance cost. For condo dwellers who already pay rent and prefer monthly to lump-sum, the math holds. For owner-occupiers staying 7+ years, upfront purchase can be cheaper depending on the specific bundle.
The honest verdict
Condo appliances are about footprint first, performance second. Get the size right and the brand decisions are easier. LG's range covers the condo-specific form factors — WashTower, under-counter purifier, AeroFurniture, NeoChef compact — better than most rival brands.
For a Malaysian condo move-in, the answer is rarely the appliance the salesperson points to first. It is almost always the slightly smaller or smarter-shaped one designed for shared, compact living.
